Twenty years after Tufty-Time changed what a modular sofa could be, Patricia Urquiola has done it again.
What's New in Tufty-Time 20
The original 2005 design was already a benchmark — deep, enveloping, endlessly reconfigurable. Tufty-Time 20 (2025) takes that foundation and rebuilds it from the inside: revised volumes, redesigned padding, a lower seat height, and the addition of a curved module that opens up configurations the original system couldn’t achieve. The result is a sofa that feels more fluid, more generous, and more suited to the way people actually use a living room.
Circularity & Construction
Circularity is built in from the start. Every component is fully disassemblable, designed so that each part can be separated, repaired, or given a second life rather than discarded. It is a rare thing in upholstered furniture — a system that takes its long-term responsibility seriously.
This Configuration
Composition C combines a TY149BS_4 left terminal element with low armrest and two TY140CV_3 curved central elements, creating an open, asymmetric configuration suited to both residential and contract spaces.
