An elegant, luxurious armchair that was designed in 1970 and reintroduced in 2008 in honour of the 100th anniversary of Carl Hansen & Son.

Hans J. Wegner’s CH101 lounge chair is a tightly shaped, but extremely comfortable lounge chair. It is built over an inner frame of solid beechwood and two arm elements, which are upholstered by hand, according to the best quality standards. For dimensional stability, the seat and back cushions have a foam core which is wrapped in a down jacket to enhance the comfort. The leather covering is removable and has discretely placed air holes.

The stainless steel flat frame consists of a longitudinal rail which is joined to the leg with skids at each end. Stainless steel is also included in the arm rests where it both supports the armrests but also covers the upholstery in both the front and the back. This creates an exciting contrast to the upholstery.

The CH101 lounge chair was designed, in its time, as part of an exclusive office furniture range and represents today some of Wegner’s finest work in stainless steel. The CH100 series was relaunched in 2008 in connection with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Carl Hansen & Søn. 

The chair works on its own or with the CH102, CH103 and CH104 sofas and the CH106 and CH108 tables which are all from the same series.
