Carl Hansen CH20 Elbow Dining Chair
Manufacturer: Carl Hansen
Designer: Hans j Wegner 1956
Designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1956 but first introduced in 2005.
A beautiful and simple dining chair that is stackable. Its low back and straight seat also make it well suited for working at a desk.
The chair's seat utilises a special 11-ply construction which gives the chair perfect stability and makes extra rungs between the chair's legs unnecessary.
When Carl Hansen & Søn put the CH20 Elbow Chair by Hans J. Wegner into production for the first time in 2005, it quickly established a position as a modern classic, winning the ICFF Editors’ Award in New York in the same year. The Elbow Chair’s characteristic steam-bent backrest, crafted from a single piece of solid wood, provides elbow and lower back support and enables a variety of sitting positions. The chair’s unique rail construction under the seat in form-pressed veneer adds optimal stability in combination with a light and floating expression.
Produced in Danish hardwoods: Oak and Beech - it is available in standard finishes and colours. Please note that with oak and ash the wood structure is clearly visible when painted whereas with beech there is only a minimum structure. Oak is only available in black CHS colour whereas Beech is available in all of the CHS colours.
The seat is made from cold foam and is covered in a large range of fabrics and leathers.
