Flos Luminator Floor Lamp
Manufacturer: Flos
Designer: Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, 1954
The Luminator is one of the most quietly radical floor lamps in the history of Italian design. Created by the Castiglioni brothers in 1954, it strips the floor lamp to its absolute essence ā a slender iron stem, three splayed legs, and an upward-facing reflector that washes the ceiling in soft, indirect light.
Seventy years on, it remains in continuous production, unchanged. Its genius lies in what it removes: no shade, no ornament, no excess. The Luminator illuminates a room by bouncing light off the ceiling, creating an even, glare-free ambience that no direct source can replicate.
- Materials: Aluminium, polycarbonate, iron stem with vitrified enamel finish, painted galvanised metal legs
- Finish: Anthracite
- Dimensions: Diameter 60cm x Height 189cm
- Cable Length: 280cm
- Lightsource required (not supplied): 1 Ć LED 12W E27
