Fritz Hansen Vind Outdoor Dining Armchair
Manufacturer: Fritz Hansen
Designer:Ā Kasper Salto
The Vind Armchair takes its form from the landscape beside Louisiana Museum of Modern Art - where sails move against the sky and lightness is structural, not decorative.
Kasper Saltoās starting point was the sail: a form that achieves strength through geometry rather than mass. The result is an armchair that is immediately recognisable as outdoor furniture designed by someone who takes indoor furniture seriously. The powder-coated aluminium frame is lean and precise; the handwoven polyester cord seat gives under weight in the right way, combining comfort with the open, airy quality the series is built around.
The cord colour is part of the design decision. Hunter Green pairs frame and cord in the same tone for a resolved, monolithic look. Mist Grey uses a contrasting grey cord against the green frame, introducing a quieter, more layered character. Both work. They read differently.
Stackable up to six high - a practical detail that matters for terraces, hospitality settings, and anyone who needs to reclaim space at the end of the season.
