Kvadrat Steelcut 3

Kvadrat Steelcut 3

Manufacturer: Kvadrat

Designer: Frans Dijkmeijer & Giulio Ridolfo

Unicoloured Steelcut 3 is an evolution of the archetypal woollen upholstery textile Steelcut, which comes in bright, confident hues by colour master Giulio Ridolfo. It is characterised by exceptional durability, tactility, and colour depth.

Steelcut 3 features an innovative, intricate construction by Frans Dijkmeijer which offers a three-dimensional surface resembling small pyramids or steel points. Despite the complex weaving technique used to craft the textile, it has a simple and precise – yet multidimensional - expression.

The expansive colour scale by Giulio Ridolfo explores a new way to blend deep reds, violets and greens and is inspired by still images he took on his travels in Mexico and his deep admiration of collages by Henri Matisse. It comprises a versatile selection of ā€˜intertones’, which combine vivid floral hues and different earthy notes to create vibrant harmonies.
