With Above, Danish designer Mads Odgard has created a lamp, which exemplifies his mantra: How simple do you dare to design? Being a minimalist, he would rather remove something than add to a design; therefore he always encourages himself to go as simple as possible.
The conical shape has a white painted inside that distributes the soft and pleasant downward directed light evenly. The top opening emits a discreet upward illumination of the arch above, after which the pendant is named, and reveals the cord, as well as providing further ambience.
The fixture emits soft comfortable downlight. The conical shape and the matt, while-painted inside help assure even distribution of the light. The opening in the top of the fixture provides decorative illumination of the arch above, and ensures that the fixture retains the full expression of its visual shape both when illuminated and when switched off.
