With the PH5/5 Pendant, Louis Poulsen reintroduces the whole sized pendants based on Poul Henningsen’s revolutionary System PH, also known as the three-shade system, from 1925-26. The pendant is characterised by a rounder look due to how the top shade of approximately 50 cm corresponds with the middle and lower shade in the proportions of 3:2:1. This design makes the PH 5/5 pendant particularly glare-free and elegant – perfect for any sizeable room at home or commercial spaces like flagship stores, meeting rooms, restaurants, hotel rooms and lobbies.

The PH 5/5 pendant comes in two variations that direct glare and shadow in different ways. In contemporary black painted metal with white inners sides, the light is fine and primarily downward directed. In the variation with a metal top shade contrasting the translucent middle and lower shades in opal glass, a warm glow as well as downward directed light is created. If you prefer an even softer light distribution, the included diffuser in frosted glass can easily be inserted.
