It was the ideal bedroom lighting Poul Henningsen had in mind when designing the PH Hat in 1961. The angle of the shade directs the light distribution of the wall lamp, which produces a non-glaring light with added glow, due to the rose-coloured inner-side of the shade.
The PH Hat was originally produced in two sizes. The small one is still in production and with its gentle comfortable light it is also very suitable for hallways, foyers, passages and stairways.
Henningsen continued to work with Louis Poulsen after their first lamp collaboration in 1925, for the Paris exhibition. During his lifetime, Poul Henningsen tirelessly worked towards creating direct glare-free light, which shaped a pleasing glow due to the reflections and shades of each design.
The fixture emits indirect 100% glare-free light. The light distribution depends on the angle of the shade. The shade is rose coloured on the inside, giving the light a warm tone.
Mounting: Mounting with cord and plug or for hardwiring. With cord: Cord with plug. Cord length: 2.4m. Light control: On/off switch on wall box.
Without cord for hardwiring: Wall bracket for mounting on wall. Light control: With on/off switch on wall box
