A Bookshelf That Fills a Wall With Purpose

At over 2.1 metres tall and nearly 140cm wide, the Montana Read is not a bookshelf that sits quietly in a corner — it is a considered statement about how a room is organised and how it looks. The shallow 30cm depth keeps it from projecting into the space, while the generous height and width give it the presence to anchor an entire wall. Books, objects, art — it holds all of it without looking cluttered, because the structure itself is strong enough to carry the eye.

Composed of six individual modules, the Read is also furniture that adapts. Each module is part of Montana’s wider system, meaning the bookshelf you buy today can be rearranged or reconfigured into an entirely different storage solution as your needs change.

Peter J. Lassen’s Montana system has been in continuous development since 1982, built on a single principle: that good storage should be as considered as any other piece of furniture in the room. The Read is one of the clearest expressions of that idea.

 

Choose Your Colour

The Read is available in all 41 of Montana’s lacquer colours — from quiet neutrals to deep, saturated tones. Colours from the Quickship range are available for delivery in approximately 3 weeks. All other lacquer colours are available on the standard delivery period. Contact our team if you would like to see colour samples before ordering.

 

Wall Hung or Floor Standing

The Read is available in three configurations: wall hung on a suspension rail, or floor standing on an adjustable plinth at either 3cm or 7cm height. Select your preferred option above.
