The distinctive design of the Wire Chair DKR by Charles and Ray Eames uses spot-welded steel both for its seat shell and legendary rod base, more commonly known as the 'Eiffel Tower' base. The Vitra chair is therefore extremely robust and perfectly at home in dining settings as well as in the garden: the versions with a powder-coated finish are ideally suited for outdoor environments and can be paired with a seat cushion or two-piece seat and back cushion ā the so-called Bikini pad ā for extra comfort.
The Wire Chair DKR is available in four new colours based on the palette designed by Charles and Ray Eames. Vitra has developed the fresh colour combinations citron, sky blue, dark green and Eames Seafoam Green.
Also available with seat pad (DKR-5) and seat and back pads (DKR-2) on request.
The powder coated versions are suitable for outdoor use.
Outdoor use: unupholstered version with powder-coated base suitable for utilisation outdoors on a temporary or seasonal basis, following care instructions. After prolonged exposure to the elements, clean and store away in a dry, sheltered place to ensure lasting use and avoid any deterioration in appearance.
