Hans J. Wegner designed the HJW02 in 1973 as part of the Opala lighting series for Hotel Scandinavia in Copenhagen. The series is immediately recognisable: slightly tilted shades, straight lines, a quietly futuristic quality that has aged without dating.
The Opala Table Lamp Midi features an asymmetric opal acrylic shade with a painted aluminium top. The asymmetry directs a focused, pleasant light where it is needed while the opal surface softly fills the surrounding space. An in-line switch keeps operation simple. Well suited to desks, sideboards, and bedside tables. Also available in a smaller version.
