Hans J. Wegner designed the HJW38 in 1973 as part of a larger lighting series commissioned for Hotel Scandinavia in Copenhagen. The Opala Mini features an opal acrylic shade with a painted aluminium top. The shade diffuses light softly through its white surface while directing a warmer glow downward - a pendant that illuminates without dominating.
